Yes. Like any PVC or vinyl product, plasticizers are used to keep the material flexible and supple.

Important to know:

• Our play mats / PVC anti-slip dots are phthalate-free. This means they do not contain harmful plasticizers.

• The plasticizers used fully comply with current European safety regulations.

• The mats are CE- and EN71-compliant and tested for child safety.

The materials are safe for use in home environments and are specifically designed with playing children in mind.

A Mats & Joy playmat is designed for daily, intensive use and is easy to maintain.

For regular care, vacuuming on a low setting is sufficient. Small stains should be removed as soon as possible using a slightly damp cloth or a mild carpet cleaner. Avoid aggressive cleaning products.

If a more thorough cleaning is needed, the playmat can be washed on a delicate cycle at 30°C, with low spin speed, a small amount of detergent, and without fabric softener. Do not use a wool program. Wash the playmat separately and ensure the washing machine has enough space.

After washing, allow the mat to dry flat. The playmat is not suitable for tumble drying, dry cleaning, bleaching, or ironing.

As with any textile product, the less frequently you wash it, the better it is for the longevity of the fibers and the print. Only wash when necessary.
